Popular Kentucky Speedway 'drive the track sale slated for April 5 SPARTA KY (3-17-03) Kentucky Speedway will allow fans to tour its 1.5-mile tri-oval in their own vehicles on Saturday, April 5, during the first ‘Drive The Track’ Sale of 2003. Fans who spend $40 or more in the Kentucky Speedway Gift Shop from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will turn three laps on the tri-oval behind Kentucky Speedway pace vehicles. The concert, which is included with the purchase of a race ticket for the event, will serve as the pre-race show to the May 10 ARCA RE/MAX Series ‘Channel 5-205’.
‘We’ve established a reputation for creating a Ôbig event’ atmosphere during all of our events and these two artists will certainly generate added enthusiasm for our ÔChannel 5-205’ and ÔMeijer 300 Presented by Oreo’ weekends,’ Kentucky Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark F. Cassis said. ‘We’re proud to be hosting both of these top caliber artists on our WUBE-FM B-105 Country Soundstage.’ (Country music star Mark Wills will also perform prior to the June 14 NASCAR Busch Series ‘Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo.)

Cochran’s well received self-titled 2001 album produced the hit singles ‘I Cry’ and ‘Angels in Waiting’ to help her become the 2002 ABC Radio Networks Listener Awards "New Artist of the Year." Her 2002 Life Happened release features the hit title single as well as the hit ‘Love Won’t Let Me,’ which reached No. 36 on the March 1 edition of the Billboard charts.
Kentucky Speedway opens May 9-10 with the return of the ARCA RE/MAX Series for the ‘Channel 5-205’ and autograph session with NASCAR Winston Cup Series stars. Racing continues June 13-14 when the NASCAR Busch Series convenes to contest ‘The Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo’ and the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series runs ‘The Kentucky 150.’ The July 11-12 weekend features the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ‘Kentucky 225’ and NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series ‘Kentucky 150.’ The Indy Racing League Indy Car Series will provide the season finale August 16-17 with ‘The Belterra Casino Indy 300’ and Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series ‘Kentucky 100.’
