Flat Rock, MI (9-13-08): A solid rain pattern has forced the postponement of the Pepsi School Bus Figure 8 races Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. Track officials have reset the race for Friday, Septermber 19th at 7:30 p.m. The original rain date was for Sunday afternoon, but the steadying effects of Hurricane Ike on the weather forecast for tomorrow for more rain pushed the make-up date to next Friday evening.
ALL tickets dated for September 13th will be honored for the Friday, September 19th show date. Times will change slightly; the front gates and box office will both open at 5 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m. The pit gate will open at 5 p.m. with practice slated for 6 p.m.
ALL general admission tickets and kids' tickets will go on sale at 5:30 when the box office opens. A small amount of reserved seating remains. Those will go on sale Monday morning by calling the track office at 734-782-2480.
In addition to the School Bus Figure 8 race, the Michigan Legends Cars and the Street Stocks/Figure 8's (on the oval track) will be in competition.
|
Track officials will make a decision at noon today regarding today's event. We will also be announcing a future rain date for the School Bus Figure 8 race in the event of a rain out.
Currently, the set rain date is Sunday September 14th, but due to storms and effects from Hurricane Ike this date may change. Please visit www.flatrockspeedway.com for up to date information.
