CAR SHOWS:  We will be at the Westfield Franklin Park in Toledo the same weekend as Frenchtown in Monroe, March 29-30;  April 12-13, Southland Center in Taylor, MI and at the Westland Shopping Center April 12-13.  We still have room for cars!  Mall reservation forms are now posted on website.  We need more cars than ever before at these events…. Maybe you can land a sponsor or keep one by going to these shows-it’s happened before!

*We are also looking for a few cars for the Owens Community College Motorsports Welding Show, set for Thursday, April 3.  Call for the details if you are interested.

 

**A NOTE TO ALL TEAMS:  To keep up with the world today, we are now going to accept credit/debit cards for race tickets at the track on race nights.  This does NOT apply to the pit gate, tires or fuel.  With this in mind, we may need to write checks for purse money—this would affect the Late Models and possibly Sportsman.  We need to see what kind of response we get with this, but we want to share this information with you at this time.

 SCHEDULE CHANGE:  Thursday, July 3:  Figure 8’s will NOT run at Toledo.  A Thrill Show has been booked for this date; all other events for this night remain the same. MUFFLERS:  Check yours!  We will be checking noise levels at both tracks.  Don’t be the example.  And just a reminder to Late Model and Sportsman drivers that an ARCA approved head/neck restraint system is required.CAR NUMBERS:  If you ran last season, we’ll give you the first 3 weeks of the season to keep it.  After that, it’s up for grabs.  We’ll work with everyone; if you won’t make it out in that time period, call us.FLAT ROCK LATE MODELS:  As we discussed, a 2-tire rule will be in effect for 2008.  You will be able to run 4 new tires the first 2 nights of racing, plus the 150 and the 100.  On all other nights, only 2 new tires will be permitted.  4 CYLINDERS:  We will be using transponders on the 4 Cylinder cars in 2008. MEMBERSHIPS:  will be available at all car shows.  Get yours in early and avoid the line at the sign-in!!Pad Rentals:  Have been mailed out.  2007 renters will have right of first refusal, but must be paid by the due date or you lose your pad.  A waiting list is being compiled at Flat Rock—call us if you want to be on that list.Sponsors:  Greater Detroit Auto Auctions has signed on as the Street Stock sponsor for 2008.  The Speedway Bar/Grille will serve as the Figure 8 sponsor; A-1 Auto Parts-Factory Stocks; David’s Jewelry-4 Cylinders; Moran Chevrolet and Miller Lite-Flat Rock Late Models, Allegiant Air, Toledo Gold Cup Late Models; National City Bank-Toledo Sportsman.  We are still in negotiations to add co-sponsors.Season tickets/gift cards:  Are now on sale—same prices as 2007!  You can download the form off the website or call us at the office.  Gift cards are just $25 and they’re good at both tracks!Special event tickets (reserved seating events):  Are now on sale.  Order form will be posted on the website.  TIRES:  Tires are now available at the ARCA office.  Tires will be at Toledo and Flat Rock tracks after April 7.  Late Models-$125 each; Hoosier Sportsman tires-$95 each.  This includes mounting (race day only) and tax.FUEL:  Bazell Fuels/Sunoco returns as our official race fuel.  Price right now is $6.25 a gallon.  Note:  Both gas stations near Flat Rock are both closed as of this bulletin.Contingency awards:    ARP Race Car Bodies, Five Star, Howe Racing Enterprises, Pioneer, Penske Shocks, Mallory Ignitions all return; complete award sheet will be handed out at the practices.  4 CYLINDER RENTAL CAR:  If you don’t know, we have a 4 Cylinder car for rent again this season.  Cost is $300 per night.  We are taking rentals now.  Call us if you have someone interested in racing!SPEEDWAY ADVERTISING:  Everything is available at both tracks-night sponsorship, wall, billboards, etc. Call 419-727-1100 if interested.MARKETING KITS:  We have our new marketing kits available.  It may assist you in your search for new sponsors.  They are full color, very neat package!  They are $5 each.  Call 419-727-1100 to get one today.PRE-SEASON PRACTICES:  Flat Rock:  Saturday, April 19 from Noon to 5, pits open at 10 a.m.; and Wednesday, April 23, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., pits open at 4.  Toledo:  Sunday, April 20, Noon to 5 p.m., pits open at 10 a.m.  (Toledo rain date is Sunday, April 27, same times).TRACK RENTALS:  Prices are same as 2007; 4 hours-$400, 8 hours-$600.  Due to scheduling, 2-hour blocks at both tracks are no longer available.  Price does include ambulance.SEE you at the mall shows and practices—get your memberships in, pad rentals in and be ready!  We will not wait for you to get through tech on opening night.  Just a thank you note to all of you about moving our shows along in a quick fashion—this is becoming more important than ever before.  We will continue to do the same thing in 2008 and at Flat Rock, we will again eliminate heat races as we did last year, alternating classes.  More on this at the driver’s meetings.
