Toledo/Flat Rock Speedway's Press Conference Open to Public
TOLEDO, Ohio—With spring officially here, the racing season is upon us, and that means the annual Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway press conference is also here.
The press conference will be held on Tuesday, March 29 starting at 1 p.m. at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio.
During the press conference, the 2016 racing schedules for both Toledo and Flat Rock will be announced as well as important dates and events for the season. Several special announcements concerning ARCA, Toledo and Flat Rock will also be made.
Each year guests of honor attend the press conference and this year’s 2016 Daytona ARCA 200 winner John Wes Townley and former NASCAR Truck Series driver Terry Cook, a native of Sylvania, will be on hand.
Townley has a multitude of racing accomplishments under his belt including two ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards wins, both coming at Daytona. The Athenian Motorsports driver has 47 starts, 11 top-five finishes and 24 top-ten finishes in the ARCA Racing Series. Townley has also collected one win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Cook, who is currently the team manager for Athenian Motorsports, is a former winning NASCAR Truck Series driver as well as a former Flat Rock and Sandusky Speedway champion. During his racing career, Cook saw time at Toledo Speedway where he added four wins to add to his racing resume.
Townley and Cook add to the list of well-known special guests who have made an appearance at the press conference, which include: Bobby Allison, Benny Parsons, Ron Hemelgarn, Ken Schrader, Frank Kimmel, David Ragan, Brad Keselowski, Justin Allgaier, Ty Dillon, James Hylton and Davey Hamilton.
