As announced March 11, Moran Chevrolet has posted additional bonus awards in addition to the point fund support. For each of the 11 Late Model races at Flat Rock, Moran will award: $100 Fast Qualifier, $50 Hard Charger (Most Improved Position), a set of tires at the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 and $600 in bonus money on championship night—1st-$300, 2nd-$200 and 3rd-$100.
Flat Rock has also received $900 in bonus money for the Late Models from a person who wishes to remain anonymous. The “Mystery Award” works like this; Each of the 9 shows (not Gold Cup races) at Flat Rock, a number will be drawn prior to the feature, referring to start position. IF that position wins the feature, he/she collects the $100 bonus; if there is no winner, the $100 is added to the next race bonus, i.e. $200. Again, a number (starting position) will be drawn prior to the race. If there is a rainout, that $100 goes to the next event. Any bonus money that is not paid out by Championship night will go to the feature winner of that race. All $900 will be paid out.
R & M Recycling Silver Cup Late Model Sportsman Series: Several bonus awards for the 3-race Series have been finalized. Ray’s Door of Toledo will post a $50 Hard Charger (Most Improved) cash bonus; Bazell Race Fuels (Toledo) and Corrigan Race Fuels (Flat Rock) will each post two-$50 cash bonuses in a random draw for Sunoco Race Fuel purchasers on the date of each of the Silver Cup races. A $50 gift certificate from Fastime Racing Engines and Parts in a random draw is also posted for the 3 events. Lap money at $5 per lap will also be paid for the 50 lap contests. A separate point system will be kept for the 3 races, and a bonus point fund has been established courtesy of R & M Recycling. The Series champion will collect $500. Second place will get $300, $200 will go to the third place finisher, $150 to fourth and $100 to the fifth place driver. Points for these 3 events will also be earned for the 2016 over-all ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman championship chase.
Fastime Racing Engines and Parts will also continue its Fast Qualifier Awards of $20 gift certificates for the Flat Rock Figure 8, Street Stock A and B Mains for 2016.
Five Star RaceCar Bodies has also renewed its contingency program for the Street Stocks and Late Model Sportsman divisions. Two-$500 product certificates toward the purchase of a body will be given away in a random draw at the track’s award banquet. You must be present to win.
