Recap: Flat Rock Speedway's Final Saturday Practice Before Opening Day!
Saturday, April 29th: On the last Saturday before Flat Rock Speedway's Opening Day on May 6th, Metro Detroit's home track became lively with the second practice session of the 2023 racing season. This session provided teams five hours to get their cars in the proper place for the first race of the season, and a large amount of action came on-track during this important day of work and racing. Over forty cars showed up, and drivers were able to tick in a numerous number of laps throughout the day of work, especially as the cloudy morning cleared up to a more sunny afternoon over the duration of the session.
The season opens Saturday, May 6, with a special 4 p.m. start time. The first 2 Saturdays, May 6 and May 13, will both have racing at 4 p.m. Night racing begins Saturday, May 20.
The ARCA Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Models, the R & M Recycling Figure 8’s and the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will hit the track for a day of fun-filled, family entertainment. Parking is free on the track grounds, and kids 6-12 are just $5 each. Adult admission for both May 6 and May 13 is $15 per person.
