Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame 2024
The Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony was held Sunday Nov. 3 in Mt. Pleasant and three individuals with ties to Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway were honored.
Headlining the honorees was Dennis “The Rebel” Whisman. He is a 10-time ARCA Figure-8 champion at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway, and has 90 feature wins at the two tracks. His feature win total of 60 at Flat Rock place him 3rd all-time to Bob Studt (115) and Little Richard Simmons (67), and his 30 feature wins at Toledo rank him 2nd to only Chuck Hall (35). The leader of an ARCA Figure-8 racing family, his brothers Dave, John and Joe all raced at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, and his son Dennis Whisman Jr. is a 2-time Flat Rock Speedway ARCA Figure-8 champion (2019, 2021).
Jeanne Lindahl, who is an ARCA Official at Flat Rock and Toledo with scoring and registration duties, received the Dick Beebe Memorial Award for lifetime contribution to the sport in Michigan. Jeanne’s brother Gary Lindahl, long time PA Announcer at Flat Rock and Toledo, is a MMHOF inductee and her brother Steve Lindahl is a former track official at Flat Rock as well as with the ARCA Midget Series.
2024 MMHOF inductee Tristan Dupuis was the driver to beat when Enduro 250 racing was at its peak in the state of Michigan, nearly unbeatable as he traveled the unofficial circuit including multiple Enduro 250 wins at Flat Rock when the starting fields averaged over 100 cars. He also registered wins at Flat Rock in the Street Stock Nationals, X-Cars and Dwarf Cars.
Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway congratulates all the 2024 honorees.
