BILL LITOGOT JR.

William “Bill” Litogot Jr., a second generation racer who went on to spearhead the racing efforts of his son and grandson, passed away on January 12 2025 in his hometown of Romulus Michigan at the age of 73. Bill’s father Bill Litogot Sr. drove in ARCA sanctioned races at Mt. Clemens Race Track, Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, and Bill Jr. was a crew member. Bill Jr. became a driver himself, but found his calling in fabricating, building and crew chiefing. He went on to work with many race teams, especially at Flat Rock, including 1981 and 1983 ARCA Street Stock champion Danny Leppen and legendary late model fabricator Bob Ward. Bill Jr. led his son Bill Litogot III to consecutive Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway ARCA 4-Cylinder division championships in 2006 and 2007. For the past decade Bill Jr. has dedicated his racing efforts to the career of his grandson Douglas Litogot. Douglas advanced from Quarter Midgets to becoming a winning ARCA Street Stock driver, recently advancing to the Sportsman division. Bill Jr was proud of the fact that Douglas did his own fabricating, working alongside his father and grandfather on the team’s cars.
