    FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY THROWBACK THURSDAY

    A popular trend among social networking sites is Throwback Thursday, reminding us of some popular memory from the past. In recognition of Throwback Thursday, FlatRockSpeedway.com will feature a "Blast From The Past" each week.

    Bill Kimmel Sr. on his way to capturing the 100 lap ARCA New Car race at the Flat Rock Speedway, August 28th, 1978. Bill would capture 3 total ARCA wins before giving way to his sons Bill and Frank who would go onto rewriting the ARCA record books!

    Bill Kimmel Sr. is still around and very sharp and active, went to lunch with him after the Salem Speedway race last September and he can still tell some great stories about his driving days. We are fortunate to have the Kimmel family in ARCA, from Bill to Frank and Bill Jr. to Will and Frankie.
