Matt Kemp Enters Flat Rock Dutch Boy 150 | May 18th
Things are coming full circle for Matt Kemp, who will make his second ARCA Menards Series East start on May 18 at Flat Rock Speedway with Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Racing.
Kemp is intimately familiar with Flat Rock and enters the Dutch Boy 150 with five straight victories dating back to 2021 with the MCR Dwarf Car Series at the track known as The Level Pebble.
“I’ve always wanted to compete at this level. In fact, the reason I began seriously pursuing ARCA opportunities was because of this race,” Kemp said. “Flat Rock has been one of, if not my favorite tracks while racing regionally with the MCR Dwarf cars, and it’s been a great place for me since my first visit in 2013 when I was racing mini cup cars.
“I’ve had this event circled since it was announced nearly two years ago. But even one year ago, I wasn’t sure if this was a possibility for me.”
Kemp made his ARCA platform debut a season ago at Michigan’s Berlin Raceway with Fast Track Racing, finishing 13th. His first East Series start came in the combination event last year at Iowa Speedway, where he finished 19th.
His Fast Track Racing entry will carry sponsorship from Green Shield Deck Builders, Hoaks Graphics and ELH Detailing at Flat Rock Speedway, with additional sponsors to be announced later.
“It’s incredible the difference a year can make. I went into my debut start at Berlin last year well aware that it could be my only shot to race at this level,” Kemp said. “I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunities to race, but also the opportunity to work with great people at Fast Track Racing. Andy gave me a shot that nobody else would, and I’m hopeful that the chance he took on me can pay off this year at Flat Rock, a track where Andy and Fast Track have success in the past.”

For the second year in a row Flat Rock Speedway is set to host the ARCA Menards East Series. Last year the event marked the return of the series for the first time since the year 2000. See the likes of Venturini Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing take on the famed ¼ mile as Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota vie for bragging rights in the Motor City’s Speedway. The DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and the R&M Recycling Figure 8 divisions will add to the racing action.
